    Q - How does it work?
    A - Simple. We train you on the bicycle taxis. You lease the BikeCabs for $25 to $65 per shift (as an indepedent contractor) and you keep all that you earn. The amount that you earn averages between 0-$100 and much much as your skills increase. You make money while you are staying in shape.

    Q - What are the Requirements?

    A - You must be 18 years old, possess a drivers license and obtain a Pedicab Drivers business license and city permit as Independent contractor. We guide you through the procedures.

    Q - What is the area like?
    A - As a driver, you pedal tourists around the beautiful waterfront hotels to local shopping during the day. By night, you take club patrons around the historic Gaslamp Quarter to more than 70 clubs and restaurants. It is fun and you meet lots of people!

    Q - Where can I stay?
    A - The USA Hostel tel - (619) 232-3100 is located 2 blocks away and the AHI hostel is located one block away. Cost is appx. $16 per night or reduced weekly rates.

    Q - How do the Drivers get along?
    A - Very well. It is very common to see drivers take surfing, volleyball and even Las Vegas trips together. Team work is evident. Many drivers share the cost of housing and take international trips together.

    Q - How many drivers can lease bikeCABs?
    A - We have 55 BikeCabs which take approximately 3 drivers per BikeCab. That all equates to approximately 159 bikeCAB leases.

    Q - How do I get pre-approved?
    A - Online, click here to apply* , Email is the easiest. Or apply for approval to lease when you arrive.

    Q - Is there much to do?
    A - Yes! The World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Wild Animal Park, LegoLand, Old Town, Mission Bay, The Beach, La Jolla, and Disneyland is only 83 miles away!

    Q- What is the difference between your bikecabs and the bike trailers I see around town?
    A- An independent study shows that the bikecabs are much safer than the bike trailers. To view the full report click here.

    Pedi Cab Driver Permit Requirements for Independent Contractors.
    All pedi cab drivers must obtain a City of San Diego Human Powered Vehicle Operator's Permit. The requirements for obtaining the permit are listed below.

Q- Where do I get a City of San Diego Tax Certificate?
A- At the City Treasurer's Office, business tax section. Located in the Development Services Center, 1222 First Ave., San Diego. Map
